Corporate Responsibility (CR) is a major focus for Highams. We run initiatives at local, industry and global levels. In addition we are constantly looking to improve our own business processes and provide a flexible and supportive working environment for our staff, including enabling them to work from home.
Locally – Highams has partnered with Rainbow Trust www.rainbowtrust.org.uk and is involved in numerous community fund-raising events to help provide support for the families of sick and terminally ill children.
At industry level – Highams has launched an Interview Offset initiative, whereby we donate to Trees for Cities www.treesforcities.org for every interview we set up with a candidate. This new programme has already raised enough money for 250 new trees to be planted in London.
Globally – Highams has partnered with Action Aid www.actionaid.org.uk and will be working on fund-raising projects to help deliver safe water for primary schools in Sierra Leone.
These partnerships are great examples of how business can work alongside charities, both motivating staff in their work and demonstrating to clients social responsibility. Additionally, every Highams employee is given a day each year to actively support a charity of their own choice.
